 I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
by Jeremy Beck (Age 11)

I can make a difference
By going to the Olympics
I can represent the USA
I want people to shout "hooray'
I want to succeed
And people to say "that guy has speed"
When I get older, if, I have a son
I don't want him to be like me
And have a lot of Bs
And when he comes home
I want him to say "everythings okay"
because he will be better than me

                                                                                       MAX LEE'S ESSAY
                                                                                      by Max Lee (Age 7)

This year about running I liked the racing the best because people cheer you on.  I also like racing because if you are in a good place you want to see what kind of medal you are going to get and when people cheer you on you get all this momentum.

RUNNING
by Chandler Morgan (Age 13)

I love to run.
I like to make new friends it is fun
I love the feeling when I start a race,
it makes me happy in the face,
When I hear the gunshot in the air
it gets me scared, but who cares.
I have a blast
When I go fast.
I am gone
when people cheer me on.
I'm feeling fine
when I cross the finish line.
I hope to get a medal one day,
I will find a way

TRACK IS FUN
by Emily Ortiz (Age 9)

Track is fun,
and exercise in one
If you do not come in first
don't get upset, you did your best
Always listen to your coach
and don't give up,
because practice makes you faster,
and is always fun
I like to run
Both at night in the sun.

                                                                                        RUNNING
                                                         by Shae Morgan (Age 11)

Running is enjoying to me because I like long distance running and it keeps me healthy.  When I run I feel like I am flying.  It keeps my heart pumping and my lungs breathing.  When I run I can feel myself improving every race.  I feel if I keep on running I will be really fast.  If I was able to make a wish it would be to run faster.

Running makes me healthier by giving me exercise and running off carbs.  It makes my legs stronger and gives me muscles.  My body is way healthier than before I started running.  I am also faster and eat less junk food.  Even though I am not as fast as some of my teammates, I keep trying.  My legs feel like they can't run anymore after a race.

I have a really fun time when I am with my friends and I am running.  I am glad that I tried running.

                                                                            EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME
                                                                                    by Gaby Gil (Age 11)

My great experience in cross-country helped me realize and try to change some of my bad running habits.  Although, I had a lot to work on, I still had a wonderful time.  Like during races, everyone would cheer you on even if you came in last place.  The coaches (Coach Jeremy, Lorena, and Grace) would cheer you on and support you through the hardest races.  Not only did they support you they would get you ready and prepared for tough races.  Clearly running cross-country is great!  It is a wonderful experience!!!
                                                                                            SAM I AM
                                                                           By Samantha Smitley (Age 10)

I can't say that I don't love feeling the wind blow in my face
I feel like I'm flying while I start to set my pace
Running makes me realize how beautiful I am inside and out
I know this is what running is all about
When I hear my wonderful team, yell "Go Sam"
I speed up to win the race and think good job "Sam I am"!
