Panthers Take Cross Country National Junior Olympics by Storm (12/11/06)

Despite the cold snowy conditions at Plantes Ferry Recreation Park in Spokane, Washington, the panthers clawed their way through the icy and slippery course to compete with the best youth athletes in the nation. While Reyna Gutierrez-Beck, Jaquiyl Barnett, and Jeremy Beck gave it their best, it was Alicia Williams, the fiercest panther of all, who placed 18th and took the “All American” medal after running against 232 Midget Girls.

At the end of day, these young competitors left with the realization that they made it to Nationals and that in itself is an accomplishment.


Corona Panthers Track Club Cross Country Champions (11/20/06)

The 15 Freeway closure and delays did not deter the panther pride from traveling to Boulder City, Nevada on Sunday, November 19, 2006 to compete against the best athletes in Nevada Junior Olympic Region 15 Cross Country Championships for a shot at the USATF Cross Country National Junior Olympics. Alicia Williams (11:03) of Prado View Elementary, Jeremy Beck (11:26) of Vicentia Elementary, Jaquiyl Barnett (11:35) of Corona Fundamental Intermediate, and Reyna Gutierrez (22:31) of Corona High School attacked the desert terrain to move on to the National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Spokane, Washington on December 9, 2006.

These panthers competed among the best runners in the Southern California, San Diego, Hawaii, and Nevada area. On December 9th, they will compete against the best in the nation and represent the State of California, County of Riverside, and City of Corona....GRRR.

Panthers Pounce at Mt. Sac Southern California Junior Olympic Cross Country Association Chamionships (11/13/06)

Corona Panthers soared through dirt trails and rolling hills for an opportunity to finish top 25 and move on to the Nevada Junior Olympic Region 15 Cross Country Championships. In the end, Alicia Williams (#2-11:46), Clarissa Robles (#19-12:47), Jeremy Beck (#5-12:03), and Jaquiyl Barnett (#23-12:18) were the top 25 who GROWLED.

Corona Panthers athletes headed to Region 15 Junior Olympic Championships (6/22/06)

Clarissa Robles, Reyna Beck, and Jeremy Beck qualify to compete at the USATF Region 15 Junior Olympic Championships on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Home Depot Center. In order to qualify to compete at this level, these athletes had to meet certain qualification times at the Southern California Association of USATF Junior Olympic Championships. The top three finishers in each event will advance to the 2006 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships to be held in Baltimore, Maryland.


Sub-Bantam Boys Relay Team Take Gold Medals in the 4x100 at Chino Pumas 17th Annual Meet (6/19/06)

On Saturday June 17, 2006 at Chino High School, Cameron Ashby, Troy Spencer, Tyler Spencer, and Miles Reed finished 1st place in the 4x100m race with a time of 1:10. Williams takes home trophy at the 30th Annual Junior Olympics (5/26/06) On Saturday May 20, 2006 at Corona High School, Alicia Williams ran her first 800m race of the year in 2:31 and won the top girl trophy. Corona Panthers athletes take 2nd, 4th and 8th place at Southern California Association Junior Olympic Multi-Event Championship (5/15/06)

Clarissa Robles, Reyna Beck, and Xavier Watkins qualify to compete at Region 15 Junior Olympic Multi-Event Championships on 7/8-9/06. Clarissa had another great 800m performance shaving 4 seconds off her personal best with a time of 2:36.04.
